Director of Facilities Planning and Construction

Indiana University of Pennsylvania, is seeking qualified applicants for a Director of Facilities Planning and Construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for overall management of the universitys Facilities Planning and Construction function, including but not limited to: space planning and management, campus master planning, capital construction project planning, leadership of the cogeneration plant and utility operations and stewardship of the physical plant. Position responsibilities include strong leadership skills, direct management of complex construction projects, timely report development and coordination and management of all external and internal capital project budgets and collaborative development of policies and practices. The Director provides strategic advice on project planning, and development to promote and accommodate the needs of the university ensuring regulatory compliance including federal, state and local ordinances, building codes, inspection requirements, and economic development strategies. The incumbent efficiently manages construction projects and space utilization, as well as develops facilities master plans to effectively support internal project development.

Minimum position requirements include: Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or related field with five years practical experience in project management or design or equivalent OR an Associate's degree in engineering, architecture or related field and 7 years of practical experience within a university of public sector setting in project management or design AND current certification in construction or project management including Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), within one year of hire date.
