Business Office Clerk

The Business Office Clerk works in collaboration with the Business Manager and serves as a resource person for the school. Responsible for performing those duties necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the business office functions and assist the Business Manager in the implementation of business office procedures of the Career and Technology Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

*Prepare, maintain and provide supporting documentation for all employee payroll records as well as benefits and deductions.

*Prepare purchase orders, invoices, checks, account statements, reports and other accounting records as requested by the Business Manager.

*Assist in compiling necessary information for the preparation and submission of quarterly federal, state and local tax filings.

*Prepare PDE payroll reports as required.

*Compile necessary information for state sales tax reporting.

*Assist in verification of business transactions such as funds received and disbursed and perform reports to assist in account and bank reconciliations.

*Assist in the verification of business transactions such as funds received and disbursed.

*Assist business manager with monthly and year end closing procedures in preparation for internal, external and state auditors as well as reports needed during the auditing processes.

*Maintain records and write checks for the student activity accounts.

*Assist the business manager in preparation of financial reports for JOC meetings.

*Sustain the petty cash account and keep all necessary transaction records.

*Perform general clerical duties for the Business Manager such as copying, correspondences and other clerical functions.

*Cover main office and receptionist area as needed..

*Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

*Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

*All required employment clearances including: Act 34/Act 151/Act 114 Work Schedule Full Time Twelve Month Position - 260 Days.
