Pro-Lift Doors seeks experienced General Manager to perform supervisory duties and directing the activities of technicians in the performance of garage door service operations to include service repairs, inspections, inventory management and schedule management.

Must possess strong communication skills, be a self-starter, have proficient computer skills, able to quote jobs to customers in a timely manner, lead a team of technicians in scheduling work, keeping a schedule, making sure the crews have the proper product and equipment for the work day, ordering product, problem solving, and general duties of the selling, servicing and repairing garage doors.
This is a scalable management position with the ratio of production to supervision activities based on business growth and operational tempo. If you have prior experience working as a general manager/lead technician and seek a full-time position, please apply.
Responsibilities
- Maintain oversight over all field technicians, employees, and company-owned assets
- Install various types of doors and dock equipment - including residential and/or commercial overhead doors, garage doors, loading docks, trailer restraints, product racks, guard rails, freight lifts, etc.
- Products, buildings and applications differ case by case; the candidate must be able to choose best solutions for each application as it pertains to safety, functionality and performance working within the guidelines of the manufacturer’s installation instructions
- Maintain truck, inventory and tools
- Communicate and report daily with employees, customers, and owner
- Lead/manage team, inventory, and jobs
- Quote jobs to customers in a timely manner
- Ensures compliance with all security, safety and environmental regulations and policies within work area at all times. This includes properly addressing issues through action or reporting issues and concern
Requirements
- Previous experience servicing/ installing garage doors - knowledge of the principles, techniques, equipment and supplies used in the residential garage door service
- Ability to learn and teach new processes
- Ability to plan, implement and direct field activities
- Ability to manage a business, its team, and all assets that follow
- Strong computer and software skills – including scheduling and dispatch management systems
- Ability to train and motivate subordinates
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and general public
- Customer service-oriented outlook on business
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate daily with employees, customers, and owner.
- Be a self-starter with the ability to organize multiple projects, manage rapidly shifting priorities and produce tangible, measurable results
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Must be able to respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Mechanical aptitude – knowledge and skilled in using various hand and power tools
- Basic business math and good written and verbal communication skills to coordinate activities with all levels of management
- Must have valid drivers' license with good driving record and be insurable
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of management experience that would provide the skills and abilities that is necessary to complete the job.
Physical Demands
Requires frequently: Standing, lifting of 50 lbs., Carrying 50 lbs., walking, pushing, stooping, climbing, bending, crouching, crawling, reaching above and below shoulder level; full use of hands, good finger dexterity, lifting from floor to waist and twisting of torso. Also includes working in cramped garages, on ladders, and with power tools and perform manual labor in outside environment, exposed to heat, sun, high humidity, rain and other adverse weather conditions.
Experience
- 3 years’ experience in the Garage Door Industry
- One-year Management experience Required
- Three years General Management experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time/Part-Time
Salary: Based on Experience $50k-80k Estimate
