Orthodontic/Sterilization Assistant
Seton Hill University seeks to fill this full-time position for the Orthodontics Program:

Position purpose is to perform and oversee on a daily basis, the equipment sterilization processes and documentation logs, distribution of instruments to residents, supply ordering and tracking (within budgeted guidelines) OSHA documentation and infection control standards, as well as some hands-on orthodontic dental assisting needs for the Graduate residents. This position will also coordinate with other clinical assisting staff, residents and faculty.

High school diploma is required. Must have successfully completed a structured dental assisting program in four-handed dentistry (or 3 years substitute on-job experience) in addition to a minimum of three years clinical experience in orthodontics, performing all clinical phases. Applicant must have knowledge of instrument sterilization processes in dentistry or other medical discipline. Applicant must have Pennsylvania Dental Radiograph Certification. Applicant must have computer experience and familiarity with dental or medical clinical-office software programs.

The ability to work in a team environment is required. You must exhibit a positive attitude in addition to excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

This position reports directly to the Business Manager of the Orthodontic Program.

Responsibilities include:
Coordinates as a clinical team lead, troubleshooting clinic issues on-site and coordinating patient needs with residents and front staff.
Maintains the inventory of all clinical stock, supplies & purchase-orders.
Maintains Sterilization Lab, Wet Lab & Dry Lab, all clinical OSHA documentation, and supply distribution processes, operatory inventory organization and tracking, daily clinical operational flow.
Prepares orthodontic brackets, wires, study models, radiographs and other diagnostic aids.
4-handed chair-side assisting for all office orthodontic procedures.
