GIS Analyst
Location: State College Municipal Building
Starting salary range: $62,500 - $78,039 (starting salary will be based on experience)

REQUIREMENTS:
The primary role of the GIS Analyst is to manage, align, and leverage GIS resources with the needs of the Borough. This includes developing sustainable systems for collecting, maintaining, and governing data, managing hardware and software, facilitating the delivery of training and technical support to end users, and capitalizing upon collaborations with, including but not limited to, other municipal jurisdictions, the. Centre Regional Council of Governments, Centre County, and Penn State University.
This position is both a subject matter expert and cross-functional leader which requires deep and broad knowledge and skills. This includes extensive technical knowledge in ERSI solutions and the ability to successfully analyze data and present data visualizations. Because this position collaborates with the others to scope, schedule, and deliver projects, proficiency in applied project management and excellent facilitation and communication skills are also required.
This is a key position responsible for collecting and managing data, creating mapping services, conducting research, performing technical analyses, and coordinating activities and initiatives. The position participates in the long-term development and enhancement of GIS capabilities to meet strategic business objectives by providing expertise, support, guidance, and leadership.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in GIS Analysis, Geography, Civil / Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or related field or experience; supplemented by five (5) or more years of experience with ArcGIS in a public sector setting; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. This position requires a criminal background evaluation and a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
