Certification Officer and Field Placement Coordinator
Waynesburg University is seeking applicants for the position of Certification Officer and Field Placement Coordinator. This is a full-time, 10 month, benefit eligible position. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled Bachelor’s degree and teaching certification are required, master’s degree preferred; A minimum of five years public school teaching experience and active teaching certification is required. A successful candidate must have extensive background knowledge in Pennsylvania Department of Education program guidelines specific to PreK-4, Grades 4-8, Grades 7-12, and Special Education PreK-12, as well as teacher certification requirements for the state of Pennsylvania. This position will work directly with faculty, schools/school districts and other educational/social service agencies to secure field-based and practicum experience for the undergraduate and graduate student teaching placements. This position will also facilitate the completion and processing of required clearances and process applications for teacher certification and assist in departmental PDE reporting. The successful candidate may supervise student teachers in the field. The successful candidates for the position above must demonstrate a strong Christian faith, a commitment to the University’s Mission and a demonstrated commitment to that faith, through his/her professional responsibilities, relationships and the mentoring of students.
